Time Management

In this task we looked at time management, and how organising your time can lead to an extremely productive way of life. The valuable aspects of time management are evident, not only within the design industry, but in many others too.
Time management can thus lead to a reduction in stress, and more free time to do other things. Personally I do find myself staring at the ceiling for hours by accident, and so maybe this time could be channeled into what others would deem 'more productive' (although I rather enjoy my day dreams).

The task was to create a list of things we 'have to do' and things we 'want to do'

Examples of the have to do's: eat, sleep, go to uni
Examples of want to do's: have a better work ethic, travel, make people smile

After this, we created an A2 calendar for the following week, which would outline everything we were to do in hour slots from 7:00 am till 10pm  Monday to Sunday.
Then I wrote in the 'have to do's' of my week, like brushing my teeth and having my meals. Resultantly, I then saw how much free time I have outside of being at uni and my everyday tasks and chores.  Thus, the time I had left for the stuff I'd like to do became evident, and I started to fill this in.

The idea is to then use this calendar next week to see if it is helpful and aids my time management and productivity.

Update on how the following week went:

I find that when I make a time plan i actively don't stick to it, I just don't like being restricted with my time, and find check lists easier to complete rather than a timetable. I know it's just me and that lots of people benefit from this kind of planning, however I like to be free in my decisions and not plan ahead as you never know how you're going to feel, and I find my mood really influences what activities I undertake. Also, I don't like doing the same thing everyday, and like to spice up my routine sometimes, but in a spontaneous way. So yeah, I didn't really look at it.
