In order to develop a strong concept, I wanted every design decision to be justified. Following my concept surrounding 'POD' and Space Odyssey (man Vs tool / technology will kill us / part of the same but separate entities) I took colour swatches from my favourite visually strong scenes and created a board where I would apply these into my design generation. I then looked at typefaces that would best fit the concept and design. I looked at san-serif futuristic / computer-esque clean type that would hold a place in contemporary Graphic Design, and relate to the concept, thus going with ' Sukhumvit Set '
After applying the colours to the design, it wasn't giving off the aesthetic identity I wanted, and did not seem to relate to the concept itself. I went back to the idea of just the POD in space, and using an off white of the ship against the infinite expanse of space - to connote further my role as a designer.
